Thrifted Toddler Toys: How I got my Op Shopping Groove Back

Blue Dolphin watering can Island of the Blue Dolphin Scott O'Dell

Island of the Blue Dolphins: A fave book in Middle School

Most of my worldly possessions are in storage & I’m out thrifting non-essentials.Nice one Heather.

My first free morning in a month of shifting & moving, & what do I do?… head to the 2nd hand shop!

It was on the way to my  Stretch/Yoga class (much needed after lifting boxes & sleeping in strange beds) 🙂

The Dolphin:  Great for various water-play activities.  My little one loves pouring: Tea parties, gardening, “baking”.

Added bonus: the 2 year old now wants to wash her hair! (YAY!!)

Other Stourbridge Street Thrift Shop Goodies:

Monkey height chart Kikki K

That Little Girl grew, she grew and she grew and she grew!

Height Chart:  Combines 2 favourite subjects in this household: Growing & Monkeys.

Looks like it was an unwanted gift, but this Kikki K height chart will be perfect in the little one’s new room.

Fisher Price Telephone

Call Me Maybe?

Fisher Price Classic: the pull along telephone.

Like my favourite Little Gymnast book, I had one & wanted my little girl to have one too.

Ever come home super excited because you’ve stumbled upon a childhood favourite?
What was the first thing that caught your eye at the charity shops this week?

I’d love you to share your thrifting strategy or your own op shopping experiences in the comments below.  I’m all about sharing the knowledge, but if you’re an Op Shopping Ninja who thrives on a stealth mission, I get and respect that too!

  1. A visit to the thrift store is absolutely compulsory after so much hard work!

That little jug is adorable and yay to enthusiastic hair washing!

Love the telephone too, I had one when I was little and my daughter plays with it still at my parent’s house.

Thanks for linking up, take it easy x

    • Hiya Liz, glad to be back into the swing of things. I reckon this telephone must be on of the top selling toys of all time…just think of the millions of smiles and giggles.

  2. Ha ha ha, priorities! we have the dolphin too, also thrifted! that is a very pretty height chart and all children should have a fisher price telephone so sorry, all absolute necessities in my book!
